The macro guys are ready to throw me out over there I think, but maybe you guys will see something different. I found a dead crow in my yard a few weeks back and knowing some good must come out of it, I left the corpse to go the way of all corpses. Soon it got to the interesting stage. I knew that early morning light would bring up texture and detail, but nature went one better and so yesterday I was out like a shot.

Some people think I'm nuts to shoot this, but I rather think of it as honoring what was hopefully a useful life. While I shot, some of its still-living brethren flew overhead and called a raucous good morning. I think crows are short on sentimentality.

I find the subject OK, but there is something missing from the shots.

In the first, I think it's too busy.

The second may benefit from a crop. Try cropping the BG out.
