The Hunter

This is my first picture post here.....

Several weeks ago I had a friend that wanted me to take some pictures of his pheasant hunt with his dog. Afterward he wanted me to take some pictures for a Christmas card. This is the one he chose for the card. Let me know what you think.

    Definitely a nice shot...in Wisconsin there's many a hunter who'd love to have shots of their activities.

    Could use a good cropping, or take it in portrait orientation to start with.


    I like the expression on both dog & owner.

    Actually I have some that were taken in portrait mode to start with, but he liked this one better since it seemed to draw in the background a little more and displayed more "fall color".....

    Here is another of him actually getting one of the birds (probably belongs in the sports forum)....

    I agree with the tighter crop, but only a bit.

    The portrait would remove some of the interesting tree aspects that add to the image. I like the way it's shot right now, maybe just crop in 5% or so.
