Nice set. 4 has a great commercial feel to it -- the sort of shot you should put in your book if you want to do marketing photos for a resort, for instance. Her smile is a little over the top, but the photography is dead on.

Thanks Brett. High praise indeed from one of my most stern (and valuable) taskmasters.

She's only 5'5" but I think she could have real potential in commercial work. She turns moods on and off, and all I said was "happy, sexy, half smile, etc." She nailed them all.

Haha, just saw what you meant about Alfred Hitchcock, funny lol. The set comes across as very relaxed and fun.

Thanks Diva. I've missed you recently.

Anyway, a lot of my improvement has to do with you ( and one or two others on her) nagging and carping and just generally giving me more info than I can remember most days.rolleyes1.gif

Enjoy the holiday and get ready for a loooooong winter of studio screw ups.mwink.gif

Wow, these are all great. I like 5 the best. In fact she could become one of your top two models.

You're right Tin, she could easily be top two if she is able to shoot often enough. As you can see here and in her full gallery, she is able to change moods and faces at the drop of a hat.
She's coming into the studio on Dec 16 so we'll see what else we can come up with.

Now if we can only figure out who the other one of my top two is.headscratch.gif
HMMMMM, I'm not sure I've kept that secret very well.rolleyes1.gif

4, 5, 6 are my pics. Cute girl, vaguely reminds me of Famke Janssen from the "James Bond Golden Eye". It's a shame she isn't 5'11". Never-the-less, beautiful girl and great shots!

You know, this is something I've mentioned (uh, harped on about lol) in the past, but here it's really working to your favour: yes, she's lovely. Yes, the pictures are technically excellent (in particular, the composition and use of backgrounds is terrific). But the other element that really makes these work is the *styling*. Colours are complementary. Makeup and hair go with the overall look and are skillfully executed. The places where there's something which is not a neutral or toned into the outfit is an intentional statement piece (eg the pocohontas hairband, or the green jacket propped up by all the neutrals). IMO, it really DOES make a difference and the hottest model and most technically-fantastic shot in the world can't get past badly-applied makeup or clothing choices that distract rather than enhance. Just my 2 pesos, but fwiw...

PS Thanks for the message. Yeah, I've been crazy busy recently (triple threat of performing, teaching, and shooting as well a mom-ing and Thanksgiving-ing) so haven't had much time to pop in here!

    Thanks Robo and Dread.

Diva, that's particularly interetsin to me because this was the FIRST time I took an active role in her styling.

The makeup is all Kay. I had nothing to do with it but she is an actress and knows that stuff. The headband was my idea, the gold necklace was stolen from my wife, the green over neutral was my setup and the gold collar is mine ( I keep stuff in the trunk) and the sunglasses in #4 came off my very own face. I may have to stay more involved, at least in styling. We shall see.

Well there ya go. I've often thought that styling is part of the "technicals" - it can make a HUGE difference to the results! A good makeup job in particular not only enhances, but saves tons of time in post. The more I shoot, the fussier I'm getting about the makeup (even if they aren't using a MUA, I make far more suggestions and adjustments - saves me HOURS afterwards.)

    Can't disagree Mum.

Still, unless we're a specific concept, I tend to let the model choose wardrobe, then I help with accessories. Maybe I should start being more involved.
