a matter of perspective
I was out last weekend for a little fun time time with the camera. The morning light was not what I was hoping for, and the Black Skimmers I wanted to shoot were nowhere to be found. I found a Great Blue Heron in a Lagoon. Photo 1 depicts my approach to the bird. Pretty sorry shot. Lets see If I can do better.
1)
The sky was overcast and the water was reflecting light up under the bird. I moved up behind the bird, where the Mangroves were no longer a background. Now the background was 200 yards of lagoon, and sand dunes after that. I knew this would give a better picture, I must admit I was amazed at the profound changes It made. Photo 2 was taken about a min. after. The same snake in the mouth. Same camera settings. No Photoshop tricks.

4) I am trying to learn. Could someone please ID this bird for me?
Have a Great Thanksgiving.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
Thanks, Harry
