Just sharing my favorites of a guy you might know

Regardless of your politics, thought I'd share.

A few things stood out to me about shooting this type of event:
  • Getting good shots over and through people is challenging (I'm 5'9"). When famous peopel come out these days, everyone puts up a camera or camera phone.
  • Live view is a nice tool, but pretty random a lot of the time
  • Confetti is like a scrambling device for any auto-focus system. When they hand out hundreds of flags, that doesn't help either
  • If you get too close, you see up people's noses, so avoid the tempation to muscle your way up close. Stay back and use the zoom
  • It is really hard to get full body shots from the ground level because of the lighting down low
