lighting at weddings; examples
Couple of my favorites made at weddings last month, both with 580exII small flash(es) and both with the Phottix Odin triggers (which I've since swapped for the new 600 EX RTs, even though they dont' do 2nd curtain sync over radio --- which is what I used for this one:
This was done during reception on the edge of a pitch-black parking lot, as they had sparklers for their exit that night. You can see more of this wedding on my blog. One of my all-time favorites that includes a cool stop-motion video too.
Used two flashes and radio control for this one (below). Also love the magenta filter and +Green gel, tip from Joe McNally. Lucky to have a magenta car and sky for that technique

The beauty of creating your own light is that all of these are VERY close to SOOC looks
When I'm shooting during the day, my go-to light is the Einstein in a Mola Demi beauty dish. Sometimes, like for groups, I'll do a composite of three shots:
same setup to get f20 light in this situation (1/200th):
