Haven't posted a lot this year been crazy busy...guess that is good.
I have been shooting a lot of dancer portraits and have put together a sample gallery. It is too many photos to post here so anyone who doesn't mind clicking to the link would be appreciated.
I quit shooting weddings so I could concentrate on shooting dancers this year.
There are a lot of dancers and variety.

Just went through the gallery and there are some AWESOME images there.thumb.gif Just too many to comment individually.

I'm curious how you managed to freeze the action. What settings work like that. I'm shooting Cyndi doing dance routines on Dec. 8th and I'd love to hear how you did that.

My equipment is two 300 ws monolights and three speedlights. My camera sync speed is 1/200 but I can cheat up to 1/250 with good results.

Almost of the shots are natural light. If I use flash the only think I ever use is an SB800 with a shoot through soft box and sometimes a bare sb800 from behind below for a rim light.
I normally shoot wide open and auto ISO to keep the shutter speed high.

    Thanks Zoomer.

I have to use strobes but I definitely want that shutter speed high. Probably shoot at AV 5.6 or so, maybe go to 1600 ISO and worry about the noise later.

I liked almost all the shots in Freak Alley and the desert shots. It is evident in some of the B&W conversions, the ISO was pretty high. Depending on the camera this doesn't always equate to excessive noise though I did notice in the one of the girl leaping against the long wall - shadow sot (B&W) the noise was quite noticeable. O ther than, a nice compilation of shots...you must have been quite busy.

Thanks everyone for having a look and taking the time to comment.
I don't worry much about noise, I actually kind of like it especially in the black and whites. Do appreciate the comment.
Glad to see the photos are being well received :).
