The fairy wrens have evaded me it seems forever, so at last today one posed (for a moment, in the way distance). But it's a fairy wren. It's blue. I'm happy.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I love the idea of a "fairy", I have never heard of them, I mean in birds......real birds. Cool.

Seems fairies are cropping up all over. I read yesterday that the very "fact" of knowledge of their near presence can stop developers: in Scotland.

I think we all need a fairy!

Good get and thanks for sharing your fairy!

I know I already responded, but this is soooooo cool!

    Thank you -
Everyone, for kind comments. I'm not quite ready to give up the doggies for bird shooting, but it is a lot of joy (and frustration).

This is an Eastern Yellow Robin, also from yesterdays trek in the bush. They are normally a very neat smart tiny bird, this boy looked like he'd just been in a fight. (The females are grey, the fellers yeller). These were taken with the Pana FZ30 at the full 12x so hugely cropped.
