Old Fremont cottonwood along the Colorado River - 2011
3 image HDR - processed in Photomatix

A cold, overcast spring morning. Then just as I had the tripod in place.... the partial sun hit the butte.

Beautiful composition and well done HDR. As a personal preference, I would give it a slight curves adjust for a bit more pop.

Very well done. You handle HDR about as well as anyone. One thought that isn't a criticism: my brain tells me I'd never see a scene illuminated this way. If the tree were darkened somewhat, and maybe the foreground rocks, I might not be quite as conscious of the processing at the outset. But I don't know anything.

    Thanks kdog & Cornflake......

I think you are right about the pop. Also the foreground brightness, so hear is another with general darkening of the foreground and an increase of brightness in the river. Let me know what you think...

I think it's a definite improvement, from a starting point that was already very good.
