I have two questions is it possible to arrange the galleries in each category in alphabetical order?

and secondly is it possible to change the size of the description text in the galleries ?

"description text in the galleries" Are you referring to the gallery description or captions?

1. There's no automated way to do that. You can only set your homepage galleries / gallery categories box to sort "by position" and then you would be able to manually arrange categories, subcategories and galleries. For more information on this, check out the "arranging galleries" section here.

2. Within the gallery description, you should be able to use html tags, like the font size tag mentioned here.
If it doesn't seem to show effect, you might have to enclose the code with
<*html>
and
<*/html>
tags (remove the * from the tag as that's only there so the tag is not filtered out by the forum).
