As we both know, HK is the way to go if you want to get that "melt-into-bg" effect. You just have to be very, very careful with lights placing / angling.
How close is she to the background? There seems to be just too much spill which robs you of contrast particularly in #1. Your background lights are too hot and/or she's too close to the background.
