Mojave River Crossing

The river was probably different then, but pioneers and freighters could cut at least a day off their journey across the Mojave Desert by crossing here and taking a road with hard ground under their wheels instead of following the sandy river bank the long way around.

Thanks Leo. I've been doing a study of the river for an historical project I'm working on:

This one is across the river and into the cottonwood trees where I found a trace of the old wagon road (Mojave Road/Mormon Trail/Old Spanish Trail). It doesn't look like much, but the history is fascinating to me.

Nice shots, Walter. First one might be a bit over-saturated, but it looks cool. The second one reminds me of northern AZ which I miss. :cry

Thanks Joel. I didn't notice the change in your location until now. I did the big city thing years ago. I do not believe I could leave the desert now.
