I have this lens too. I absolutely love mine. I bought it used about four or five years ago. It is a solid lens and possibly the most reliable auto-focusing lens I own, despite its age. I did pay a little less than the opening poster's asking 625 for mine, but I strongly recommend this lens if you are coveting the new version but choking on the price of the new ones. Most of my pool photography is shot with my old 80-200 push pull -- definitely pushing the limits of low light: http://www.poolinaction.com/

No, I do not know the opening poster -- this is just my own experience with the same lens.

Somebody make an offer -- you'll be glad you did!

I haven't even visited the forum myself for a few days (and nothing burned down lol3.gif)! I'm sure Mike will get back to you shortly.

Happy New Year to all wave.gif

I thought I sent responses, but sorry!
I was in NYC for the new years, and didn't have access to my lens.
I'll take some shots of the element and post em up!

I'm so sorry to those who were interested!
I had to study extra hard after returning from NYC for my DAT, because apparently I wasn't ready!

Here are the pictures of the elements.. I tried to capture them to what you can see by shining the light in various angles.
Beside the fungus, everything else is dust in it's current state.

    Price is negotiable!!

The fungus has not grown, expanded, or sporulated elsewhere.
