Using Dropbox

When using the "Insert Image" icon (yellow square), it doesn't seem to
recognize a link to a Dropbox image. The link is in this format:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/rylxhwux4iripm4/2012-12-07-09B.jpg
but with fore and aft. (If I add these, the link doesn't
even show up in this post.


Any reason for this?

Dropbox may not allow external links. Why not just use your SmugMug account, why complicate things with Dropbox?

Actually, drop box links work just fine here. I just linked an image from my dropbox in this post. I just went to my DB folder, right clicked on the image, and chose "copy public link".

I figured it out. For DG to link to the image, the image has to be in Public Folder.
A link to an image not in this folder won't appear in DG.

Just to use a link for other web use, which I've done dozens of times, it doesn't need to be in the Public Folder.
Since I've used Dropbox links for other forums and Usenet, without having to do this, I've never used the Public Folder.

When you mentioned "public link" I searched Dropbox for an explanation and found it.
