Ok. I found some birds, geese, by the dozens at a local golf course.
If you knew the crap I had to go through to get these shots. Really, I mean
do know how much crap a flock of geese put out? It's mind boggling.
I think they poop they're weight each day.:dunno

Once again, we have the wonderful Minn. weather. But I did my best.
All taken with a Canon XT and a Canon 70-300is lens at ISO 800.

hello, fellow minnesota person. very nice geese, i especially like the third shot.

you are so right about the poop. we have 14 domestic geese at home, great subjects, but they always leave a little something for you.

That black and white shot you opened with does it for me, great shot. (and I'm told they actually go through greater than their own body mass every day, since it's not uncommon for them to only get a small percentage of food in each bite... lots of grass and such passing through... very high fiber content.)

My vote goes for the first one with the three geese in BW.

I can see it hanging over a mantle with a warm fire in a little country cabinthumb.gif

    Thanks folks.

I'm leaning toward the B&W if I don't find anything better by the deadline.

    One more from today.

Flaps are down, I'm coming in.

The number one shot is the best in my estimation. Miz Wiz agrees!

One is nice... I do really like two. "Flaps Down" is unique shot. Not your typical picture. I do think you will be heckled by some here saying, "another good butt shot"

Not here. I like it... If only you could see a bit more of the head.

    Sorry, I don't think I am helping.

dave. i like the first two, my husband likes the first one, so it is almost unaNimous here and there.

but the thing about the first one, the cropping bothers me a smidgen. I would like, I think, to see a bit, a tad, less space to the right. The birds have room to fly into, plus, right now, IMO. I would tighten that part just a bit.....how I don't know.

It is beautifully taken. and worked up. looks very commercial to me. I actually like the second shot better, but then I am still working on getting a good flock of birds.

I would go w the first one, you have to. I would try taking a tad off of the right........just to look at it and pick from that. Actually, I would frame it, but that could be a huge mistake, and I am not going to suggest such a personal decision.

    Thanks guys.

For now, it's the 3 geese. What do you think, B&W or color.
