Open in Camera Raw

:scratch After stitching a panorama in Photoshop .. an saving as a Tiff file I am unable to open in Camera
Raw ..in Bridge when viewing the open option it is grayed out .. I use CS 5 ..
I have no clue ...thanks

    This is just a guess, but I wonder whether your panorama might be too wide. IIRC, ACR 6 is limited to 10,000 pixels in each dimension. Check with Adobe.

    there is nothing in ACR that is not available in CS5

    Sadly, it's worse than that. Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) is limited to 9,999 x 9,999 pixels. :D

    Photoshop CS4 onward appears to have a size limitation of 300,000 by 300,000 pixels. (Previous versions were limited to 30,000 by 30,000 pixels.) It's not clear if the TIFF format allows that maximum resolution, but the 8BPB/PSB formats do allow this resolution.

    ACR is a component of PS CS5, as is the panoramic section. As such, the 2 - components appear to have different image size capabilities and different constraints.

    OP said that the pano was already saved as TIFF
    so , no benefit for ACR anymore

    best practice is ACR first , then panoramic section , not the other way around

    Isnt ACR for RAW conversion, in which case why do you need ACR?

    There are some things that ACR does more easily than PS, in particular one-click white balance. Once in a while, I realize days after I'm finished with a pic that something needs tweaking and it may be faster to do it with ACR than in PS. Doesn't happen often, but it's always good to have tricks up your sleeve when you need them. For panoramas, I generally first process all of the component shots as a synchronized group in ACR, then use PS to merge them.

    Additional Issues
    My original file was not anywhere near that big ...
    What is odd to me I can only open a NEFF file in raw ..
    When I go to Bridge and attempt to "open in raw" it is grayed out.
    I should be able to open a jpeg and it's grayed out as well

    In Photoshop:

    Edit - Preferences - Camera Raw - JPG and TIFF Handling (located at the bottom of the page)

    Then select: "Automatically open all supported ...", for both the JPG and TIFF drop down menus.
