Went out with my amazing girlfriend, braving the cold weather for these shots!
Thought of this theme since October, and finally got around to doing it at a local establishment :clap

Any C&C is welcomed!

What's amazing to me is that these are SOOC JPEG!

Set up: D800 + 105 f2 DC at f2.0, SB900 main on shoot-through umbrella, and SB26 rim-light.
I took the 85mm 1.4D along with a 50 1.4G and a 16-35VR, but none of them stayed on the camera. The 105DC produced insanely sharp images with great bokeh at f2. In comparison, the 85 1.4D was a complete let down being super soft at 1.4, and only sharp stopped down. I didn't even use the 50 nor 16-35.

You got some technicals but overall these are good.
    • Love #1. Some will complain about the flair but I like it.
    • I want to like #2 but that furry eyeball-thing on the left scares me.
    • You missed focus on #3 and the tilt is a bit much for me. Watch the hot spots from your lights. Really like the backdrop. Nice.
    • #4 is nice. Just watch for tree-head.
    • Love #5 and #6. I'd crop #5 slightly on the right to get rid of the tan shingles.

Good work man. And your girlfriend is a dime!

The D800 is nice.. it's a love/hate affair though, because less-than exceptional lenses will show it's flaws on the D800.

I will work on those technicals! Those blue flare actually came from me ripping off, "borrowing", the lights from a nearby tree. I placed the lights in various places in front of the lens and that was the result.

I'll post up some more edited versions later, thank you guys for the input!
