Disappearing Desert

Our little town is just about a big city now. Many of the things we loved about living here have been plowed under, paved over, painted and filled with people. A few days ago I was driving through town and saw this field. It had the "look" that I remember. I crept out one morning and snagged a few shots. Likely this will be replaced by something stupid soon.

Nice shot, Walter. I'm curious....where are you going to go when the growth gets too much for you to handle?

    Merry Christmas,

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

    Thanks Leo, Tom.

I do love it here, and what's happening gets me a bit down sometimes. Hopefully the grand daughters will live nearby for the next 12 years. If I persist the house will be paid off and we'll see what happens from that point. If there's anything I've learned about myself is that is that I can find the cracks and slip through them.

" I can find the cracks and slip through them ". That's quite an honest...and a little revealing...self-assessment. I, too, consider myself to be somewhat adept at those maneuvers. In fact, most of the savvy and successful folks I know can swim in those waters when the situation calls for it. It's a skill worth honing.

And somewhat of a mixed blessing, but nice to get a quick nap at the grandkids house today. ;-) It made for a Merry Christmas.

Beautiful photo Walter. Sorry to hear about the rapid expansion in your area. Sadly, this is all to common nowadays :(
