LR Publish - Original or jpg?

Most of my photos in LR are jpg. So in the publish settings will the upload go faster if I have it set to original?

I am thinking that if the publish setting is set to jpg, LR will resave the jpg as a jpg prior to uploading. this will cause the file to be double processed and take more time to upload.
Is this correct?

So if I have the publish setting set to Original and the system attempts to upload a RAW file (I have a Power account) will it error out or automatically convert it to jpg?
Well every person you can know,
And every place that you can go,
And any thing that you can show,
You know they're nouns.

If you choose original, I don't think that any of the edits you make in Lightroom would be applied to the photo. So the photo would get uploaded as it comes out of the camera.
If you do edits in Lightroom, I would recommend that you use the jpg setting so your edits are applied.

The time it takes Lightroom to create a new jpg behind the scenes should be negligible.

For raw files, the photos would still get converted to jpg if you do not have a SmugVault account and thus can't upload raw files.

You are indeed correct Sebastian. Your edits on the photo will not make it to SmugMug if you use the "Original" format selection.
