Nikon D600 RAW files

Hope someone here has some hints on this one for me. I picked up my D600 a few weeks ago and have been trying to use the RAW files I have shot. Nikon transfer lets me download them, ViewNX will let me see them but not make any adjustments on them. I have downloaded Lightroom 4.3 and it will not even see the RAW files. I have a D7000 and the RAW files from that work fine in all of those programs.

Does anyone know of a fix for LR4.3 or even ViewNX? If not is there another program out there that is working for the D600 RAW files.

Thanks guys.

    perhaps
Perhaps you might have to convert to a DNG, TIFF, or JPEG to work with them further on your system. You should convert a few just to check. Another issue might be your OS. Since this is a new rig, it is a safe bet that older Operating Systems wont support it. Good luck, but be sure that you are using the most current OS for your platform. If all else fails, call Nikon.

the software is probably just not up to date for the raw files, watch the web sites for newer versions.

    Well Adobe says 4.3 supports the D600 - http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/
So...what do you mean LR won't see the flles? Are you saying that when you try to import them, they don't show up in the Import list? What steps are you doing?

I made sure I have the updates for Nikon transfer and LR 4.3. I download from the camera using Nikon transfer and then import into LR. ViewNX lets me look at the RAW files but make no adjustments and in LR where the image should be in the folder I get the message "image not available for preview" and if I try to click on that box it doesn't do anything. I must have some settings screwy. Thanks for the suggestions.

Can you try importing directly into Lightroom and bypass Nikon Transfer?

Yes why use the extra step. Use LR for the entire process.

Plus it eliminates the variable of Nikon Transfer so you can see where the problem is.

I have had no problems importing my D600 raw images with either LR 4.3 or PS 13.0.1 (ACR 7.3). I pull the card from the camera and have the computer read directly from it.
