I put the first one in the entry gallery yesterday, but went out again and got the second one. I'd appreciate any comments or critiques. Having fun with this challenge...
I really love the texture and drama of the first one. Very nice!

#1 for me - the wood really pops and the ivy crosses the frame beautifully.
Thanks Jen, Pedal Girl, and cbbr.
The combination of texture and line attracted me to this shot (the first one). I'm not a huge fan of selective color, but in this case it seems to bring out the best of both primary picture elements.
I really like the texture and color of the first image.
The second image I don't consider selective color as 2 colors seem to be selected (blue/yellow). The white of the bird also looks selected, if white was actually a color.

I really like #1. The second is a good shot of a cockatoo but the first really draws me in to the textures and beauty.

There are multiple color tones in Bill's first image also... I don't interpret anything in the challenge description as a limit to only one color tone selected - especially since Jag's example images include one with a palate of colors.
The textures and lines of the wood are beautifully revealed in your first and I love the color juxtaposition of the ivy and the composition too. My favorite kind of image....nicely done. The bird is nice as well, but doesn't capture me as much as the first.

If I post it, please tell me how to make it better. My fragile ego can take it.
My daughter is a fanatic bird lover. She has two gorgeous birds. Me? Couldn't tell a cockoo from a buzzard.
Thanks Jen, Pedal Girl, and cbbr.
