Hi, slightly different composition of the same area of the Nambung NP - but in B&W.

Wow. Looks like a science fiction movie set.

This shot certainly has it's own appeal but I think, as a documentary effort, it falls short of the color version. The strong earth color is paramount in the visual presentation and it accentuates the role the earth played in the formation of these stones.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

If that doesn't look like a scen from Twilight Zone. I think the b/w works very well but would like to see color too. On my monitor the rocks look like they could be a tad bit sharper!!

I like it Richard - as David said, other-worldly!
And, as Tom said, both versions have their respective appeal. A day with sky features would be fortunate also.
Interesting (if a bit convoluted) geological history - thanks for posting that.
For me, the interest and beauty factor is related to their resemblance to the intentional standing stones at various locations in Great Britain.
Breaching whales come to mind also.

Hi David, I don't think it has ever been a movie set - except for Billy Connolly on his 'Tour Downunder'. As is his want - he danced naked around the Pinnacles !!

    Cheers, Richard.

Hi Tom, I certainly prefer the colour version as well - especially as the yellow's and blue's are so strong - but as you say - the B&W also has it's own appeal.

    Cheers, Richard.

Hi Eia, I agree with you - the formations could be a little sharper. Thanks for looking in and your feedback.

    Cheers, Richard.

Hi Eric, "A day with sky features would be fortunate" When I looked at other images of the Pinnacles, all the best ones had dramatic cloud formations - all I had was BLUE sky from horizon to horizon. And as for a convoluted geological history - very little in life is simple - especially when it comes to geology! And now that you mention it - I cannot see anything but whales breaching - perhaps I should photoshop some eyes on the rocks :D

    Cheers, Richard.
