Any issues with importing and uploading at the same time?

Is it possible to import files into Lightroom while uploading photos from LR to SM with messing things up?

As long as your computer can handle it, you should not have any trouble doing both operations. I just tested this on a small batch of photos.

As John said, all should be fine. Even at a crash due to high memory usage, nothing should be permanently messed up, but make sure your LR Catalog is backed up constantly.

I do this on occasion and can say that it works. I start the upload first, then the import. However do not expect items you are importing to be automatically uploaded. It appears from my experience that if you want to directly upload the images you just imported that the option to do is to import first then do the upload.

Yes, great point Bradford. If you are uploading images you already have in your LR catalog, while importing NEW images, all should work fine (although, a little slower than doing each task individually).
