I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

Sorry Andy, I thought I left a title in my original e-mail. It is my picture and it is a Spiny Softshell Turlte (popping his head out of the water) that I took in April 2005 at the Little Rock Zoo in Little Rock, AR.
Caption: Spiny Softshell Turtle
Name: Brian (lr1811)
Shot: April 2005 (and previously posted here on dgrin)
I don't know what to send. I am not a good enough photographer to have an OUTSTANDING shot, nor am I bad enough to have ONE good shot.
I think I am a very good photographer, most of the time, well, some of the time, but very prolific with many good shots in many arenas.
But nothing that really stands out like shots of the depression, or the Napalm kid in Viet Nam, nor Bresson, even (though I don't know how recognized he would be today in a group...?? But I don't have any of his stuff anyway.) I probably do landscapes better than birds, at least I get more comments on them, but they are not spectacular, just good.

I have one, well.............I don't know.
Andy, what if we send one and change our mind?
ginger (Are we stuck with what we send?)
Ginger ...you have loads of great shots!!! your beach fence shot blew me away..and so did many others..
As many people still don't seem to get it. The mails with the pictures attached to go directly into the smugmug system! Anybody (not even Andy) gets to see the real email you sent with your emailaddress or name you might have set in your emailprograms!!
SO please follow the little steps Andy told you a thousand times about: Your Caption and your Name have to be written in the body of the email OR your picture won't be qualified for the contest!!
Thanks,
Sebastian
PS: Sorry for the big font to all having done it properly!
OK this is a joke, right?
I am throwing out the two photos in this screenshot (the first two). You guys may reload - resubmit with caption AND name please.

Lynn, I have plenty of good shots, IMO, they are great, but not photo of the year. Smile.
I would enter the one of Bill, but it was taken a year ago, as in December, I think, 2004.
I have two in mind. The KPOTD one and the man photographing our bridges. I think it will be the bridge shot, but I can't decide on color or black and white.
I just like it as it is an unusual shot for me to have taken, plus I think it is good, smile. But photo of the year? I think that would be a shot of all dGrin photographers together, taken from the top of a ladder, smile. (I do know which one so far I like, but I can't share that............it is NOT mine, not that I don't like mine..........for me!)

That critter was shot in April 2005 (according to the exif).
