I can see how they would. Nice works. Am especially fond of image 2. That one has really got it going on Like Eric says and right down to the weeds too.
Everything in its place and well placed they are
Many thanks, everyone. #2 was my initial favorite--mostly because of the strong colors, I think--but #1 has been growing on me. Good thing I don't have to choose .
Very good job as usual Richard.
Ibiza is a very beautiful place.
Your pictures bring me many good memories.
Thanks, man. I lived on Ibiza during the 70s and 80s, before it turned into disco-land and houses that I rented for thirty dollars a month skyrocketed to absurd prices. If you get away from the major towns and coast, some of the quiet beauty still remains, especially in winter. More pics from my latest visit are here.

Hi Richard, I'm not feeling #1 at all. #2 is good, nice color and contrast, maybe a bit too much sky?
I'll put myself in the camp favoring #2, but have been questioning what about #1 isn't working. For me, I wonder about the lack on any sense of where the horizon is. The image appears (to me) to be just slightly tilted to the left. There's also that little bit of roof line at the upper left (not the shadow, though) that seems out of place.
What is has done, is bring viewers back; caused some analysis and contemplation. Not a bad outcome any way you look at it. Nice stuff!
Thanks for the comments, Cristóbal and Bill. The simple geometry of #1 is what appeals to me, though I can understand why someone might look at it and think, "so what?" Nice catch on the tiny bit of roof at the top--I hadn't paid much attention to it, but I agree that it would be best to crop it. As for the tilt, it's hard to say--these old buildings frequently lack true right angles, which makes consistency impossible. But to me, that's part of their charm.
