Foques... that is an attachment for the chisel that Hack used to carve petroglyphs into the cave wall when he was a kid.

That looks like a part from a long roll film winder I used to use. Not exactly, but very similar.

When your not too smart like I am and rewind the film back in the canister you put this in to fish the leader out. Takes some practice but it worked.
You youngins missed out on alot of fun back in the days. Loading film in the dark and thinking why am I closing my eyes.....its already dark.

I was going to say it's a film extractor, I have a slightly more modern version, and yes, I have used it.

Charles - our company still shoots exclusively with film for 90% of our work - go figure, we could use one of those lol. Although, we don't do much in the way of 35mm.

I used a small scrap of film and a piece of tape rolled backwards to create double sided tape.

Haven't seen one of those in years....maybe decades. lol

Label maker tape also worked very well. Feed it thru the felt, sticky side towards the film. The roll the film spool until it grabbed and drew in a couple inches of the label tape. Then pull out the label tape until the film appears. Sometimes helped to pull the label tape out quickly....as long as you didn't pull out too much film in the process. :(:
