Spray Painter on Harvard Square (Cambridge, MA)

I took this picture last summer on Harvard Square:


I did the following in photoshop to give the picture a spray-paint look:

• -Original Layer: Name "Background
• -To Lab
• -Duplicate Layer: Name "Copy1"
  Blend Normal, 75%, fill 100%
• -Gaussian Blur 30-50pixels on Lightness channel of Copy1
  This gives the glow effect.
• -New Adjustment Layer, Curves: Name "Curves1"
• -Play with L*a*b channels of "Curves1"
• -Sharpen "Background" layer a bit more than normal, using Unsharp Mask. This enhances details, but it needs extra because sharpness of blur of glow effect.
