Dennis, you got great shots of that owl's eyes every time! And with the BG, it looks almost angelic at times. Great series of a bird I will probably never see. Best, Pam

Thank you so much for your comments on this set of shots. Well all I can say is being in the right spot and right time is how I got these posed shots.

Thanks Pam. The eyes are what make these shots so special for me as it has been the first year of photograph them. The backgrounds turned out well for all of these shots, and never count yourself out for being able to photograph thes amazing birds.

It was hunting for food, and I just waited and picked my time to grab these captures, so I waited for the opportunity for the owl to look around. It's a gamble when doing this as you can miss a lot of other shots, but this all worked out in the end for me.

They just keep getting better. Can you find these birds at will? Or is this an occasional find.

Is this your pet owl? C'mon be honest! ;o)

The wildlife out here in Bay Area California, where I hike locally, I can hear them, and then I can see them half mile away. Even if you look in their direction they seem to sense it and take off. So have to find truly wild creatures like this owl who doesn't give a hoot about you and your zoom lens.

    AWESOME JOB AGAIN!

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Robert, thank you for the kind words. I have seen them before but way out of the cameras reach and this year I was lucky enough to have these Snowy Owl shots from within reach. So this would be an occasional find for me.

I wished this was a pet owl or you would be seeing more images then just these, and I got a good kick from that comment.

That is a big problem as I see them occasionally, but always to far out and taking an image would show a dust spot like image. This time around I got lucky finding this on location, and this one has stand in this one spot for some time now and there is supposed to mbe a female there to, but I have never seen her around.
