So, it looks like these photos were uploaded years ago, and you have the DOS path as the filename.
This was a bug that was introduced by a 3rd party uploader, AFAIK. We recently made changes that are causing these photos to not have thumbnail displays.
If you don't have access to the original photos to replace these versions with (with different filenames), you could download the original size from this gallery, and then rename the file to a valid name, and then perform a Replace on all of the affected photos.

I hope this helps!

Would this actually work? I thought the uploaders used the filename to determine if something was the same or not to be replace/skipped.
I'm not sure if the reason makes sense--why would they be visible in some browsers and not in others?
I can't answer that question but it probably has something to do with the way IE handles what it thinks are path/file names which makes some sense as IE's roots are Windows based.

I'm not satisfied with this answer. Why should I have to re-load so many of my pictures for something that appears to be Smugmug caused issue, We recently made changes that are causing these photos to not have thumbnail displays.
I have only used the uploaders provided by Smugmug. This will most likely cause me to not subscribe next year.

This is probably just a one-time one-off glitch at SM. It probably won't happen to you ever again. And there's no guarantee that it wouldn't happen at another service.
I know it's a pain, but I'd just re-upload them and see if that fixes it. I still have occasional image rotation issues that were supposed to be solved years ago. But it happens so infrequently now that it's not worth moving services. I'm sure that's what this will be for you in the end.

I sincerely apologize Rick. The only identified cause of this happened back when you uploaded the photos, in 2006. This was caused by a specific 3rd party uploader, and not by the native SmugMug uploader. As far as I can tell, it should only be the first page of photos, about 35 photos. Is this about right?
In post #25 it seems clearly stated that 3rd party uploaders were NOT used.
It looks as though someone is being called a liar.
Great customer relations!
Actually, I never called him a liar. All I know is the facts. The path filename convention was caused by the 3rd party app back in 2006. He is not the only case we have seen. We know from experience with the issue. Do you know every App, website and uploader that you were using back in 2006? I sure don't remember what I was using. I barely remember what sites I was on or even where i was working. So I am assuming that if he used a third-party uploader, maybe he doesn't remember because I was 2006, 7 years ago. That is not calling him a liar in the least bit. I am merely stating the facts. We know what caused issue back in 2006. Whether he remembers using the uploader or not is irrelevant and not the issue.
So, I have gone ahead and deleted the images since this was essentially my only option. I'm still irritated that something SmugMug did caused this and that there I was not informed that this would affect my galleries. I imagine anyone that tried to look at my SmugMug site came away thinking what a crappy site I have...

Have you tried clearing your browser cache, restarting your browser and giving it another look? When I went into the gallery everything looked fine.
If that does not work, please email us a screen shot and we'll give it another look for you.

If you follow Michael's suggestion then yes, it will work because you're giving the files new names.
I'm not sure if the reason makes sense--why would they be visible in some browsers and not in others?

Samir,
Rick will use the "Replace" tool in the "Tools" menu on a photo by photo basis, not the uploader.
