I entered this as part of the abstract challenge.

Sorry, could not reply earlier.
This shot was created by a champagne glass kept in a dark room. My wife held a black piece of chart paper behind the glass. I took a 30 second exposure, and used a torch to slowly create trails. It appeared like light is bubbling out of the glass.
Later, in PP, I played around with WB and highlights and shadows, to get rid of all background imagery in the picture. And this is the final result.
The red shot is also shot the same way, but the background is our curtain with such patterns. Red color comes from white balance, so does blue. Its a LED torch, so you can move sliders either way to get color.
Make sure to jack up the contrast to insanity.
