So I thought I'd get this party started by showing a couple of my first attempts at food photography. At least it was an excuse to make cookies today. :)

I love both ideas. The lighting on the artichoke seems a bit bright on the right side.
LOVE the softness and colors of the cookie photo.

PS What did you make with the artichoke?

I like the cookies better. I think the soft milk cup adds to it and it makes me hungry :)

I like the first milk & cookies shot. The cookies are more of a focal point in this shot than the other.

I agree that the first cookie shot is better, however, I'd like to see the focal point on the cookies move forward from it's current location - which creates a soft focus on the front edge of the cookies.

Thanks for all the input guys. I had some other ideas I was going to try over this weekend... but I took off and went to Joshua Tree instead. So, I ended up entering a version of the cookies and milk. :)
