Camera Raw issue sliders covering in red

seems evertime i use the exposure slider it covers the photo in red ,not only the exposure but other sliders too ? Anyone else have this issue ?

    CS 5 /bridge /camera raw . this is something new that it is doing , red blotches start appearing as I increase the exp setting on the slider and some of the other sliders as well.

    OK. It's not any mask that you're working on. What it's showing you are the areas that are highlights and clipped. On the right side of the camera raw window, in the histogram, are two arrows at the top of either end of the histogram. The right arrow is highlight clipping. The left shows the areas of shadow clipping.

    Clicking on either arrow turns those highlights on or off.
