Nice shot, Werner. What did you do to get the exposure to come out so well? And I guess it's not spring everywhere! Best, Pam

Thank you both for commenting. I generally use +1 or +2 EV exposure compensation in snow. Here the sheep fills quite a bit of the frame so I think it was +1. But I also chimp the histogram after most shots. This Big Horn was one of several that were grazing whatever they could find under the snow so I had plenty of time to adjust exposure after each shot. I could have stood there all day shooting. The wildlife in Yellowstone is very laid back in winter. They are all in energy conservation mode because they can't get enough food to replace the fat that they burn to keep warm. They aren't about to get chased away from food by a few photographers.

Thanks for explaining, Werner. I'm not expecting too much snow here in the swamps, but if it happens, I'm prepared! Best, Pam

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thank you for commenting Randy and Harry. I've seen Big Horn Sheep on various trips but never had them pose nicely for extended periods of time.
