The Lower Falls of the Yellowstone

For scale there is a viewing platform just to the right of the top of the falls that is open in summer.

    Another nice one, Werner.

    Boy, that is one HUGE mound of ice that has formed at the bottom left of the falls ( as we look at it from this position ). It's a totally different look from the Summer view.

    Thanks Tom, the big mound of ice goes away but even at the beginning of July there is still some snow in the canyon.

    Actually it was pretty cold that day but apparently it has been a relatively mild winter in Yellowstone.
