I recently purchased some strobes and a backdrop. I have been practicing taking pictures of my children. Would like to receive some feedback on Lighting and poses.

the light in the 1st shot is kinda all over the place (I think you have the main light camera right and above and a kicker left and slighty behind?). So you have large areas of imbalanced shadows and highlights all over. But beyond that the whole image is soft. Very cute kiddo though!

As for the 2nd shot..same issue with the lights (her right leg is almost gone) and all underexposed to boot as well as soft.

I think part of the softness is when you upload images to dgrin they are turned to low res. YOu should start up flickr or smugmug and upload to those sites and hot link.
