Used my kid sister as a guinea pig this past weekend to see the differences between a BD & SB on the same session.

If you want to test the difference between the 2 modifiers, I would use the same pose and light placement. Otherwise you're comparing apples and oranges, so to speak. Your processing is a bit flat for my taste -- I'd pump up the blacks or play with the curves (depending on your editing preference).

I like em. Nice hand placement on the first three. The only thing I'll mention is watch the different types of light, on #3 and #4, a natural light from camera right. Doesn't match the softbox camera left, and can be a bear to edit. But I like them, very nice work.

To clarify I did the traditional same pose different source as a basis of my quick test while giving her some pics she wanted. The test was the reason for the shoot... the shots posted was not to judge the difference between the two just a couple of pics I liked. I appreciate your advice about the giving it a bit more contrast which I will admit I have always had problems with... I never want to get to dark on areas. Thanks.

Thanks.. you are correct. There was windows about 8 ft to the right which I tried to to cover but almost just became like diffused light. I tend to practice @ night since I use a spare room in my house but this was a out of the blue fun shoot I did on the fly to once again play w/ different sources.
