Ok, I know its not a bug but came out decent.
Fashioned reflector from aluminum cone used on lights available at any hardware store. Fits over flash head, attached with, what else, "duck" tape.
Light weight, easily hand held, "paper towel" diffuser.

    Macro is not just about shooting bugs. I have shot thousands of macro/close-up images, and have shot a total of about three images of bugs. Macro is an exploration of a small world. It was never written on a wall somewhere that it had to be about bugs. But I see what you mean - most forums which have a macro section seem to have a serious tendency towards bugs.

    I like your attitude of using cobbled-together gear.
