After running around with my grandson at the local wildlife nature center this last weekend, I decided to go back and get some turkey shots. Saturday I had only my D300 with 28-300mm lens I was traveling light had to keep up with a 5 year old.
Had a chance before work so I went back and took a long walk after sunrise with better glass to get the turkeys in full strut.

Chris, these are lovely turkey shots! We used to have them on Avery Island, and my husband could call them into full strut really well. We also found out slamming the car door worked almost as well. I love these birds! Best, Pam

The colors you can get from them especially the feathers is incredible. These guys you give then a little hawk whistle and they gobble their heads off. I am going back and shooting some video of them.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I know of the ones of which you speak, I woupd not waste the time to capture them they lack color and class of the wild ones. Although the IQs are probably close to the samemwink.gif
