Wild Goose Island Sunset

I saw Joel's photo from Glacier today and thought I'd go back and see if I had any shots that have been remaining undiscovered from the same park. This is a shot from back in 2010 and I had left all these photos alone, because it wasn't that great of a sunset. I've since learnt a lot more in terms of processing and decided to give this a try with some luminosity masks. It's manually blended from two different exposures.

I know it's not much of a sunset, but I'd like to know what you think, and if there's spots I need to clean up (such as haloing etc). I'd also love any tips you're willing to share in processing these types of shots.

Thanks so much!

I think that the Halo, though minimal, was the first thing that caught me. Otherwise, I really like the Composition. Beautiful shot.

Very serene blue-light shot, Karl. I don't use luminosity masks, so I can say for sure. But most of the auto-masking features in PS and ACR will tend to halo when you push things. You could try a manual blend instead. Those are hard to get right too on the jagged mountain edges and will often leave a dark border a couple of pixels wide, but that's easy to clone out very accurately.

Thanks Joel. I'll have another shot at it and post again later.
