Can't remove featured photos from slideshow

I can't remove featured photos from my slideshow. I go to the gallery>tools>this gallery>remove.
It's still there. This has worked in the past. Help.:scratch

You selected your slideshow to show photos from the most popular photos. Please have a look at the screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/HR5oKkSSwvy

If the photo in that gallery is among the most popular photos, it will show up in the slideshow What you could do is create a new gallery, collect the photos you want to show in your slideshow from your other galleries and select that newly created gallery as the source for your slideshow.
