I misread the thread title as "A few decent bird shots". Got that wrong on two fronts ... waaaaayyy better than "decent"
    Gob-smacking beautiful. Just sensational.
Pity about the dead tree poking into the first of the composite in #3. Can't control everything in wildlife photography though.
Thank you so much for posting. made my day.
My opinion does not necessarily make it true. What you do with my opinion is entirely up to you.

These are really spectacular! I love the detail on the front edge of the eagle's wing. The GBH through the reeds is wonderful, and you still got a clear sharp eye. I have no idea how you got those woodpeckers to cooperate like that. The thoughtful pose of the Snowy Egret that is so perfectly exposed and detailed against that beautiful BG is lovely, and the colors and silhouette in the last shot are equally beautiful. Terrific series! Best, Pam

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Duh! If I had read the word "composite" I would have answered my own question! Wonderful series! Best, Pam

Really nice composition of the heron shot. You must have been close to the egret?
