Grand Falls is a seasonal waterfall in Northern Arizona that runs for a few months in the spring during snow melt and occasionally in the summer during a heavy monsoon. At 185 feet tall this multi tier waterfall is five feet taller than Niagra Falls. I had previously been to this location too soon, too late , and at max flow (2x). After doing some research on flow rates of the stream system as well as the moon cycle and angles I was able to time things to the pre-envisioned images I had.
Here are a few non traditional images from this unique waterfall.
1. 1st Tier - in max flow conditions this location is impossible to get too.
2.
3.
4. Grand Falls by moon light
For a sense of scale - the 2nd and third shots are the small fall in the top left section of this image. The broken rock near bottom right is larger than a two story house.
5.
6. This is probably my favorite image of the whole trip. This is my 13 year old son shooting night shots with me.

Thank you Werner. It is my favorite too. Adding a human element to landscapes makes them far more dynamic and when that element is your own blood it is easy to be attached to it.

Thank you Steve i appreciate the kind words. Normal run time is late Feb to early April so if you make it to AZ during those months you should head up there. If you are here any other time reach out to me and I can give you a list of places worth seeing.

It's too hard to pick a favorite, but I do love that you caught a moonbow in #4!

Thanks for the comments.
Chris- Yes it was pretty cool to see the moon bow and I considered hiking back down to the base of the falls but it is not the easiest trail and I had already sloshed through the cold mud once that day.
