Spent the weekend in the Bay Area visiting my wife's family and our daughter. She is turning 21 in May. Can't believe time has flown by so fast. Have more photos to go through but wanted to share this shot I took of her as she sat outside. I know the highlights in the hair are bit much and her glasses are partially obscuring her eyes but I love the way she looks in this shot.
"I'm not yelling. I'm Cuban. That's how we talk."

Thanks Diva. And I'm glad you say she looks like the both of us. We seem to think so. The typical comment we get is "Oh, she looks just like Jen." The thing is, if you look at photos of me when I was a child and her at the same age, we're spitting images of each other. As she's grown, her womanly features have started to show through so she doesn't look so much like me any longer. Thank God. However, we agree that she's a perfect cross of the two of us.
Thanks Mitchell. She's worn glasses since a teen but this current pair fits her just perfectly.

And like the others, I think this girl embodies the very best parts of both of her parents. It is quite obvious she has the good parts of both!
Thanks Michael. It's funny but I think all the work I've been doing inside with my strobes has really helped my outdoor, natural light portraits as well. Not sure how that makes sense but it's improved my ability to understand and "see" light.
Thanks. Trying to harness the power of the sun Bryce and I love a good flare shot and I've always struggled with them. Practice, practice.

If I post it, please tell me how to make it better. My fragile ego can take it.
Thank you.
Thanks.
Here is another shot... her mother's turn.

It totally makes sense. You know how light falls on the subject because you've been doing it for so long. The sun is a light source, so you are able to work with those conditions.
I actually think it works both ways. I usually shoot in natural light, but the few times I do use strobes, I have an idea of how I want the light to fall on the subject from how often I shoot outdoors.
