Images and Search engines

I'm perplexed. When going to google.com and clicking on the images tab and performing a search for my site only (using site://clients.bradmalmgren.com) my public images do not show up. I'm not concerned about optimization with keywords, better file names etc at this point. I'm just curious why images on public galleries in smugmug don't index but images on a non smugmug site work like a champ. I checked a few others on smugmug, and others have more indexed and some have none but its not a good test as I don't know if their settings allow indexing.

Anyone have any insights on why images just don't appear to be indexing? I contacted support but they just kept sending me a link for some SEO tips. I'm just wondering why they don't show up in a site:// search as I was expecting they would regardless of any optimization.

I only see two galleries on your site that are not password protected. I'm assuming that Hello World settings for those galleries is set to site-wide settings and that the Discovery settings for your account allows Google to see the site. If that's the case I don't know why photos from those 2 galleries aren't showing in your search.

As far as I know (and I believe this is what the help page means), images from password-protected galleries would not show up on search. From the help page at http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/93309:

Password-protected galleries require visitors to enter a password to see the photos inside. The galleries won't show up in SmugMug's search. Google can find them, but can't look inside.

Thanks Denise. Indeed the settings on the public galleries are set to allow indexing. I'm perplexed as well in why they are not showing up either

Instead of the image search, use the regular web search and you'll see that Google has indexed your site. For the image search, Google doesn't index everything. They seem to be focusing their efforts there. To get your stuff in image search as well, it'll take time and some effort on your part. See this page for suggestions on increasing your search engine relevance. Having other relevant pages featuring and linking back to your content helps a lot.

I'm not a selling Pro and don't really keep track of any visitor stats.
Sure, I have galleries for sale, but I don't market any of them and don't really expect any sales.
