Hey guys,

I'm looking for some feedback on a recent photo I took. It's a cityscape of Bangkok, shot from a hotel highrise.

I feel like the darks/shadows down below might be adding to much contrast to make the photo visibly appealing. Thoughts?

I'd post the photo on here, but the file size is much to big to upload.

Thanks guys,

Feel free too comment and critique any of my photos :)

Go to the "Share" tab in the upper right and you have several link options for posting reasonable size images into assorted places. As for the photo it has promise but the light might have had a bit more drama 5-15 minutes earlier in the morning. 2 cents..

Ahhh thanks for that tidbit of handy info! It was a sunset shot, that I was shooting handheld as I was out all day, unfortunately with no tripod. I think I have a few other shots from a little later, but I don't think there sharp enough.

    Thanks!

Welcome to the Landscapes forum, isdilly! clap.gif

Fabulous view of Bangkok and a killer sunset to boot. Did you shoot this raw? I would selectively bring up the light levels in the city, maybe add some curve or local contrast for some pop. This will really shine. nod.gif

Looking forward to seeing more of your work. thumb.gif

Oh yes, that's what I was thinking! I like the first two of this second set the best. I'm thinking just a few minutes later with a faint glow in the sky and the lights of the buildings would have been pretty spectacular too, but you would have needed some camera support for that.

The adjustments definitely helped. I like the 1st and 4th of the series with the 4th being my favorite due to the soft glow at the top of the building at left frame. The first is a bit over done but I would suggest looking at a bw conversion as well.
