What Happened to My Originals?

Today, after uploading (Publishing via LR 4.4) a new gallery, I can't view ANY of my images in ANY gallery any larger than XL, even though the flyout shows Original. There seems more to it than that, but hopefully an answer to that issue will help me with the others. :scratch

Sounds to me like the files uploaded may be just slightly larger than the XL so that is the largest they can be viewed.

Go into LR and right-click on the SmugMug tab then click "Edit Settings". check your file settings and make sure you are uploading the photos in their original (or correct) sizing.

Already did that Kevin. Also note that I cannot view my originals in ANY of my hundred or so galleries.
EDIT: Oh, wait. I just realized that things are OK in Internet Explorer. The problem rears its ugly head in Chrome. Haven't checked Safari yet.
    EDIT: Works OK with Safari.
Guess it's an issue with the way the site works (or doesn't so well) with Chrome. Weird.

It looks like smug is in read only mode right now (I just tried to log in and was greeted by a "We'll be back shortly" message) so it would make sense that you can't view your Originals if they aren't available to viewers who aren't logged in to your site.

Denise is correct. Can you verify you can see the originals now?

I can view originals in IE and Safari, but not in Chrome. In Chrome, when viewing individual images, I don't even get the S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, O choices across the top of the page. Those options do show up on the flyout menu on the thumbnail page, but no matter which I click on there, I just get a single (L) size on the resulting page.

When a browser goes wonky the first thing I do is a graceful system reboot. If that doesn't cure the problem, I check the Tools-Extensions (in Chrome) to see if anything odd got installed. Turn off anything not necessary.

If none of that works, a browser de-install followed by a re-install usually corrects the problem.

(Currently running Google Chrome Version 26.0.1410.43 m on Windows 7/32bit, same version on Win7/64bit and same version on Win XP/32bit. No problems with SmugMug, Default Theme.)

Can you paste a link to a gallery you are experiencing this on?

    Thanks!

    Hi John,

Do you see the Original link in the top Nav? If you click on it, do you not see the photos load? It may be there, but you may need to scroll. If this is the case, please let me know and we can investigate your customization.

    Thanks!

OK, you're going to think I hallucinated the whole thing, but I assure you I did not. NOW I do see the O link in the top bar, along with all the others. Every thing is fine in the several galleries I checked. Yesterday, no. There was no "bar" across the top giving choices of image size. As I said, the flyout menu appeared on the thumbnail page, but when the image was clicked on, only the L size came up, with no options for other sizes. Now everything looks as it should. I did nothing to change anything, but just now, when I click on the "original" option in the flyout menu, that's what I get. headscratch.gif

Looks like the poltergeist went back where she came from. Maybe she just didn't like Chrome.

Hey, that poltergeist pays plenty of visits to me every month headscratch.gif

I am glad it is all working for you now. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
