... is the traditional start of our local Bill Koch League's XC skiing season.

This year we had perfect weather, a dusting of snow, but nothing to keep any of our group inside.

This game takes place on so many levels, age groups, levels of seriousness that it's truly mind boggling. Might be good practice for running a medium sized war.

We play with electricity.

If you are tagged out you have to go to jail, deep within the other team's territory. But the meaning of being in jail is defined by induction:
  1. You are in jail if you are physically within the confines of the jail, or
  2. You are in jail if you are physically touching someone who is in jail.

The implication is that a long chain of people can form originating in the jail and ultimately, perhaps, reaching the boundry. There is a related rule about how people are freed from jail. You are freed from jail if:
  1. You are touched by someone from your own team who isn't out, or
  2. You are touching someone at the time s/he is freed from jail.

Now we are ready for some real winter weather, but today it's 65F and raining.
If not now, when?
