Trying to make some progress on post. Playing with some old images to see what I can come up with. C&C welcome of course!

This is one of the best hikes in the world!
    Great light. Great job processing!
Seems like you could have turned the camera slightly right to get a bit more over there?

This image doesn't look so old...
I love the light and the color and rock detail.
I agree with Marc, I find myself looking to see more to the right.
    Beautiful image overall.

Thank you Marc. I appreciate the comments very much! I agree and found a slightly different view with a bit more of the right.

Ha Ha! Yeah I guess not that old, 2010. Thanks for your comments as well shawnc, very much appreciated!

If either of you happen back on the thread, let me know what you think of the new version.

    Cheers!

    Well, well, well.
I like this comp much better. I think this helps to lead my eye right into the canyon and out to canyon's end without leaving me hanging on the edge of the image.
The light in the first image was more dramatic, but I'm liking this brighter image as well.
Is this further up the trail? lovely image.

Thanks shawnc! I agree, I think this one leads a bit better, but think I like the immediate left side of the frame on the first a bit better. May tone down the brightness a bit as well.

Honestly, I can't quite remember but I think I was heading back down at this point, and the second one was shot first, so yes, I believe further up the trail. I appreciate your follow up comment!!!

Both of these are super and I'd be hard-pressed to choose a favorite. I like the brightness in the second one. What hike is this that Marc was alluding to if you don't mind me asking?

I actually love the large cliff on the left in the first version. It creates all the scale!
I think your ideal comp would be to add just a 10th of the frame to the right..... so you see how close you were :)

The hike is “Angels Landing” in Zion NP.

Thanks Kdog! Your comments are appreciated!! Yep Marc is spot on, it was the Angels landing hike in early November of 2010. Absolutely beautiful, not too hard and spectacular views, would just love for it to be a little less populated people-wise but beggars can't be choosers. Look forward to heading back at some point though.

Thanks for stopping back in and commenting Marc. So close, I agree. I like the large cliff on the left of the first as well. I think I have one more that has perhaps marginally less than a tenth more on the right, but I won't subject the thread to any further versions. :) Your comments are appreciated!

    Thanks to you both!

Both are very strong images, like the updated one the best. Hope to get out there someday.
