R.Jay posted a great woodgrain closeup the other day and it occurred to to me that yes the rust junkies are the big dogs on here but someone other than me may also have a bit of a thing for drift wood and close-up "wood grain" shots.

To wit..

These two are the inside of a rotted tree I managed to squeeze my camera into and click off a few.

Nice work, Steve. I also love shooting drift wood....and other weathered trees, stumps, etc. The textures and grains can be captivating. I particularly like #2 here.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Fine series Steve! All great, but I like #1 the best - it's bold and has great elements of color and texture change.
I think you're onto something... I too like wood textures (any, really)... so, I'm off to find some....It'll be fun! clap.gif

Hi Steve, very nice series. Just out of interest - did anyone see you sticking your camera into a dead tree - would have made a interesting shot in itself :D

    Cheers, Richard.

Ha! Yeah as a matter of fact a fellow walked by and asked if I was a tree proctolioist!

Here's another of that tree that shows the openings a bit better.
