Saw this next to a pond earlier this year. The robberfly had been flying around with the dragonfly and landed for a few seconds.

Those Robberflies look scary don't they, I've had two given to me in the past, and even when the things were dead I didn't like touching them
I can well imagine once the Robber has a hold of its prey there is virtually no chance of survival ........ gosh and in your shot he took on quite a large dragonfly too.
